From My Own Practice

Analgesic is one of those products that rarely stays on the shelf for long in my office because people quickly find their own favorite way to use it. Although it was created as a topical rub for sore muscles and joints, I've seen it become a go-to product for many different kinds of everyday discomfort.

When muscles feel tight after physical activity, when shoulders and neck become stiff from sitting at a desk, or when knees, hips, hands, or other joints simply need a little extra comfort, this is often one of the first things I reach for. A small amount goes a surprisingly long way, and the blend of essential oils produces a soothing warming and cooling sensation that many people find very comforting.

I keep a bottle in every massage room. Many of my clients come to me because they're already uncomfortable, and my goal is to help them leave feeling better than when they arrived. After a massage, I'll often massage a small amount of Analgesic into the areas we've worked on. Time and again, clients tell me how much they appreciate the relief and soothing sensation it continues to provide after they leave the office.

I've also found it useful beyond sore muscles. When muscle tension contributes to a headache, I'll often massage a small amount into my neck, shoulders, temples, or scalp, taking care to keep it well away from my eyes. I have also applied a small amount to my chest when I wanted the cooling, aromatic sensation that many people associate with traditional vapor rubs.

Like any product containing concentrated essential oils, a little goes a long way. Avoid contact with the eyes, eyelids, and other sensitive tissues. If you get it in your eyes, you'll know it. Wash your hands after application unless your hands are the area being treated.
