From Dr. James' Teachings
It is really exciting to have an herbal formula like I Brite. I have had people come to the clinic who were slowly losing their vision, and being able to help reverse that process is exciting for me... and also for them.
When people begin to lose their vision, it often starts with things becoming slightly murky. Over time, that murkiness increases until vision is greatly diminished. This formula contains the herb Eyebright, along with several others. It was designed to help cleanse the fluid within the eye, since the lens is formed from nutrients carried in that fluid.
The lens of the eye is made up of many layers. It is like looking through cellophane versus waxed paper. You can see clearly through a roll of cellophane, but you cannot see through a roll of waxed paper. This is similar to what happens during the formation of a cataract. Instead of forming a clear, crisp layer, the lens develops cloudy, milky layers. As those layers accumulate, a cataract develops and vision becomes impaired.
As you take I Brite, it helps cleanse the fluid in the eye so that new layers of the lens are formed more clearly. Rather than producing cloudy, waxed paper-like layers, the body is encouraged to produce clearer, cellophane-like layers.
You must realize that I Brite will not clear a cataract overnight. The older, cloudy layers must gradually slough away before the newer, clearer layers become dominant. The time required varies depending on the individual and the degree of vision loss. It may take up to six months of consistent use before noticeable improvement occurs, although an eye examination may reveal significant changes much sooner, sometimes within three months.
I Brite has also been very beneficial for glaucoma by helping relieve pressure affecting the optic nerve when taken along with roasted Dandelion Root tea.
If eye problems are present, the diet should also be addressed. Refined carbohydrates should be avoided. A beneficial diet includes dark leafy greens, yellow vegetables, whole grains, and fruits. The Orientals believe, and I agree, that all eye problems are liver problems. To help the body regain its eyesight, the liver should be cleansed.
The liver burns fat as its primary fuel. Cod liver oil, cold-pressed oils, and expeller-processed oils are good choices. Safflower oil may also be beneficial if it is expeller processed rather than heat rendered, since expeller-processed oils are more readily utilized by the liver.
When the liver has healthy fats available, it can use those for fuel instead of relying on carbohydrates. It is important that we eat some healthy fats because the liver needs them. If we fuel the liver properly, the eyes will improve.
By incorporating sensible dietary changes along with the herbal formula I Brite, tremendous positive changes may be seen with many eye problems. I Brite may also help support allergies, eye irritation and soreness, and overworked eyes.

From My Practice
I Brite has become one of my favorite herbs, and interestingly, not for the reason I was originally taught.
Ever since I was young, my seasonal allergies have almost always involved my eyes. They can itch so intensely that you feel like scratching them with a Brillo pad. They water, burn, and sometimes feel as though I have soap in them. Whenever my allergies flare, I almost always feel it in my eyes.
Of course, I would take the formulas that were intended to support seasonal allergies, but one day I wondered, "If I Brite is so beneficial for the eyes, would it help with the itching, too?" So I tried it.
I was amazed! It made a HUGE difference for me, and I have loved I Brite ever since.
When I told Dad about my little experiment, he looked at me with genuine surprise. "Really?" he said. He had always recommended I Brite for supporting vision and eye health, but he had never thought to use it for itchy allergy eyes. He was delighted to discover another practical use for one of his favorite herbs.
Since then, I have often recommended I Brite for clients whose allergies affect their eyes. While I also use it to support overall eye health, this is still one of my favorite reasons to reach for it.
I also recommend I Brite for clients who want nutritional support for healthy vision or who are looking to support their eyes while dealing with concerns such as dry eyes, glaucoma, or macular degeneration. Rather than thinking of it as targeting a particular condition, I think of it as providing nutritional support for the tissues and structures of the eye, allowing the body to make the best use of the nutrients available.
As I get closer to 50, I have become more interested in protecting my vision for the years ahead. These days, I personally take one I Brite each day as part of my regular routine. So far, so good. Ask me again in another ten years... and I'll return and report.

Dosage Guide
A personal note for my clients: If we've worked together recently, please follow the recommendations I gave you during your consultation. They were personalized to your individual health needs, goals, and circumstances and may differ from the general dosage suggestions provided here or on the bottle.
Support Needed
Maintenance
Mild
Moderate
Intensive
Common Amount
1 to 2 capsules once daily
1 capsule twice daily
3 capsules once daily
2 capsules twice daily
Once you begin noticing improvement, you can usually reduce to the lowest amount that continues to provide the support you need.
The directions on the bottle provide a general recommendation. In my own practice, I view those amounts as a starting point, not a limit. During times of greater discomfort, I adjust the amount and frequency according to the level of support the body seems to need.
