From Dr. James' Teachings

I often tell people that when the blood sugar level is low, your actions and emotions should lead you to be classified as "legally, temporarily insane." Of course, after making such a preposterous statement, I chuckle. Let me explain.

In order to help those who suffer from hypoglycemia and other blood sugar-related illnesses, we must understand that the body's own mechanisms kick in when the blood sugar level drops. Its only goal is to elevate glucose levels in the bloodstream. It doesn't care how. The body doesn't think, "I should eat this because it's better for me." It only wants to get the glucose level up right now.

Those who suffer from these blood sugar-related problems will recognize these familiar symptoms: the ache in the stomach, the quivery feelings, and having the emotions so close to the surface that panic happens very easily.

As we take into our quivering and shaking hand that candy bar or soda pop, and stuff it into our face or gulp it down, we utter a sigh, one that comes from deep within our body. "Ahhh, I needed that..." The relief comes from the knowledge that, in a very short period of time, our emotions will no longer be visible to the world, and the feeling of control will slowly engulf our body. For a short period of time, this feeling of being in control will envelop our body and put a smile on our face.

Certainly and suddenly, and sometimes without warning, these positive feelings will disappear. To predict when this will occur is impossible. When (not if) this happens, the abusive, ritualistic cycle will occur again, constantly. I have found from experience that making an intelligent decision is virtually impossible when the blood sugar level is low or nonexistent.

I carry in my pocket, and suggest to those with similar problems to do the same, an "anti-insanity" formula in capsule form. This herbal formula puts into the body, as quickly as a candy bar or soda, needed nutrients that raise the glucose level naturally so that we can make an intelligent decision about what kind of food we consume, as well as when we need to consume it. The better we choose our food at this time, the less we will be controlled by these drastic ups and downs.

To give control to hypoglycemics, I suggest that they take this herbal formula daily. As they regain control and make healthier choices, many find they no longer experience the same dramatic highs and lows.

Try Low Sugar; it has worked for many others and me.

From My Own Practice

One of the things I appreciate most about Low Sugar is that it isn't just for someone with hypoglycemia. I often recommend it when life simply gets ahead of us.

We've all had those days when work is busy, appointments run long, or we're so focused on taking care of everyone else that we forget to take care of ourselves. Lunch comes and goes, dinner is delayed, and before long we realize we haven't given our bodies the nourishment they needed. It's no surprise that we begin to feel shaky, irritable, lightheaded, anxious, or mentally drained.

This is where I often find Low Sugar helpful. I think of it as a bridge, not a destination. It provides nutritional support until you can eat a balanced meal and get yourself back on track. It is never intended to replace healthy food or become a substitute for good daily habits. Instead, it can help support your body while you make those better choices.

I also find Low Sugar to be a gentle source of nutritional support for people who are physically or emotionally exhausted. During times of prolonged stress, when the adrenal glands have been working overtime, a little extra nutritional support can be beneficial as the body recovers.

The adrenal glands sit on top of the kidneys and play an important role in helping the body respond to stress. Imagine that a bad man is chasing you. Your body doesn't stop to think about whether you're tired or whether you've had enough sleep. The adrenal glands release adrenaline so you can respond immediately. You can run now and freak out later.

Now imagine that you've been under constant stress for weeks or even months. Your body no longer feels like it has the same reserve. That same bad man starts chasing you, but instead of running, you only have the energy to sit down, put your head in your hands, and say, "Just make it fast." Your get-up-and-go has gotten up and gone.

That is often how people describe prolonged physical or emotional exhaustion. While Low Sugar isn't a substitute for proper nutrition, rest, and stress management, I have found it to be a wonderful source of nutritional support during those times, helping support the body until you can nourish yourself well and get back on track.

No supplement can replace wholesome food, adequate rest, and healthy daily habits. Those will always be the foundation. But when life doesn't go according to plan, Low Sugar can provide supportive nutrition while you work toward getting back to the habits that help you feel your best.

Dosage Guide

The directions on the bottle provide a general recommendation. In my own practice, I view those amounts as a starting point, not a limit. During times of greater discomfort, I adjust the amount and frequency according to the level of support the body seems to need.

A personal note for my clients: If we've worked together recently, please follow the recommendations I gave you during your consultation. They were personalized to your individual health needs, goals, and circumstances and may differ from the general dosage suggestions provided here or on the bottle.
