From Dr. James' Teachings
Tissue Mend got its name from exactly what it does. It was designed to nourish and support the tissues of the body, including the bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and connective tissues. Whether you've suffered an injury, are recovering from surgery, or simply put your body through heavy physical activity, these tissues require additional nutrition while they repair themselves.
When you injure yourself, your body immediately begins rebuilding damaged tissue. In order to do that, it needs an abundance of nutrients. Tissue Mend was formulated to supply those nutrients from whole herbs that naturally contain a wide variety of vitamins, minerals, and trace elements in forms the body can readily recognize and use. At the same time, it helps support healthy circulation to the injured area so those nutrients can be delivered where they are needed most.
Over the years, we have found that Tissue Mend is helpful for broken bones, sprains, strains, bruises, torn ligaments, damaged tendons, muscle injuries, neck and back injuries, and many long-standing joint and muscular conditions. It has also been one of our favorite formulas for anyone whose body is under repeated physical stress, including athletes, laborers, and people whose occupations place continual demands on their muscles and joints.
One of the things people have commented on for years is what they call the "side effects" of Tissue Mend. Many have reported stronger fingernails that grow faster and healthier hair while taking the formula. If those are the side effects, most people are happy to accept them.

From My Own Practice
If there is one formula I rarely allow myself to run out of, it is Tissue Mend. As a massage therapist, my hands, wrists, shoulders, and joints are under constant physical demand. Along with Arth Rite, Tissue Mend is one of the formulas I take every day to help support the muscles, joints, connective tissues, and structural health that allow me to continue doing the work I love. I personally take equal amounts of Arth Rite and Tissue Mend as part of my regular routine.
One experience made me appreciate this formula even more.
In February 2016, I severely injured my left ankle at a trampoline park. The force of the injury tore nearly every ligament and tendon in my ankle, sparing only the Achilles tendon. I spent time in a wheelchair before progressing to crutches. I was told I would likely never regain full range of motion, that my ankle would probably remain permanently enlarged, and that reaching even 80% function within the first year would be considered an excellent outcome. They did not expect me to ever reach 100%.
During my recovery, I took a minimum of twelve Tissue Mend capsules each day, along with other nutritional support that I discuss elsewhere throughout this library. Within approximately four months, I had already regained about 80% of my ankle's movement. Today, you would never know which ankle had been injured (I only remember because I could still drive my car). While everyone's recovery is different and no supplement can guarantee a particular outcome, that experience gave me an even deeper appreciation for Tissue Mend and reinforced what I had already seen in practice.
Over the years, Tissue Mend has become one of my first recommendations whenever the body is preparing for, or recovering from, increased physical demands. That includes injuries, sprains, strains, broken bones, surgeries, dental procedures, athletic training, physically demanding jobs, or even activities like hiking or yard work when your body isn't accustomed to them. Supporting the body before physical stress, and continuing afterward, gives it the nutritional building blocks it needs during both recovery and repair.
For those who exercise regularly, Tissue Mend has long been a favorite. Dr. James affectionately referred to these individuals as "gym rats." Whether you're lifting weights, training for a competition, boxing, participating in mixed martial arts, or simply working out several days each week, muscles are constantly being challenged and rebuilt. Many active people choose to take Tissue Mend as part of their regular routine to support that natural recovery process.
I've also recommended Tissue Mend before planned surgeries, including dental procedures, because the body's healing process begins the moment tissue is disturbed. I took Tissue Mend before and after having my wisdom teeth removed, and my recovery progressed so quickly that my oral surgeon commented on how well I was healing.

Dosage Guide
The directions on the bottle provide a general recommendation. In my own practice, I view those amounts as a starting point, not a limit. During times of greater discomfort, I adjust the amount and frequency according to the level of support the body seems to need.
A personal note for my clients: If we've worked together recently, please follow the recommendations I gave you during your consultation. They were personalized to your individual health needs, goals, and circumstances and may differ from the general dosage suggestions provided here or on the bottle.
