Hot Stone Massage

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy focuses on the muscles, connective tissue, and overall movement of the body. Through skilled, intentional touch, it helps reduce tension, improve mobility, and support the body’s natural ability to recover.

In my practice, massage is not a routine or a preset sequence. Each appointment is guided by what your body presents that day, allowing the work to be more precise and effective. The goal is not just temporary relief, but helping your body move and feel better in a more lasting way.

Where Massage Can Help

Massage therapy can support a wide range of physical concerns, from everyday tension to more persistent patterns in the body. Here are some of the most common reasons people come in:

  • Ongoing muscle tension or tightness

  • Neck and shoulder discomfort

  • Low back and hip pain

  • Limited mobility or stiffness

  • Headaches related to muscle tension

  • Recovery from physical strain or overuse

  • Areas that feel “stuck,” guarded, or not responding as they should

If you’re not sure whether massage is the right fit, we can talk through what you’re experiencing and decide the best approach.

What To Expect

This will give you a clearer sense of how appointments work and what to expect when you come in.

What happens during an appointment?

At the start of your appointment, I’ll ask what you’re needing that day. Some people want a full-body massage with extra attention to certain areas, while others come in with something more specific they want to focus on. We’ll decide that together before we begin.

From there, you’ll get comfortable on the table, and I’ll work directly with the muscles and connective tissue based on what we discussed and what I’m finding as I go. I adjust pressure and technique as needed so it stays appropriate for your body.

What should I wear?

You can undress to your level of comfort. Most people choose to undress partially or fully, depending on the areas being worked.
You’ll be properly draped at all times, with only the area I’m working on uncovered.

If you’d prefer to stay more fully clothed, that’s fine too. I can adjust how I work so you’re comfortable.

Does massage need to be deep to be effective?

Not necessarily. More pressure isn’t always better, and deeper isn’t always more effective. What matters is using the right amount of pressure for the tissue and what your body will actually respond to.

Some areas may need deeper work, while others respond better to lighter, more specific pressure. I adjust as I go so the pressure stays effective without being excessive.

How will I feel afterward?

Most people feel looser and more comfortable in their body right after an appointment. Depending on the areas we worked on, you may also notice some soreness later, similar to what you might feel after physical activity.

Drinking water and moving normally afterward can help. If anything feels outside of what you’d expect, you’re always welcome to reach out.

Real Experiences

People come in for different reasons, but most are just looking to feel better in their body. Here are a few things clients have shared.

Sara M.

“I didn’t realize how tight everything was until I got on the table. By the end, my shoulders had dropped and I could actually turn my head without that pulling feeling. I felt like myself again.”

Robert D.

“I came in because my low back had been bothering me for weeks. I thought it was just something I had to live with. After the appointment, it was noticeably better, and over the next couple days it kept improving.”

Paula L.

“What I appreciate most is that it’s not the same routine every time. She actually pays attention to what’s going on and works where it’s needed. I always leave feeling better than when I came in.”
